Our test results will show you which headsets and headphones:

• are compatible with computers, smartphones and popular video chat programs

• use USB-A or 3.5mm auxiliary connectors (if applicable).

Our interactive comparison tool helps you find out which headsets and headphones have noise cancelling capabilities, onboard controls, replaceable parts and the longest battery life. We specify where the microphone is placed and the cable length, and also note whether the unit is being sold as a headset or headphones.

Headphones that can be used for calls are only tested as headsets, under video chat conditions. This means we only assessed their ability to send and receive a spoken conversation and scored accordingly. Sound quality does not factor entertainment audio (such as music, podcasts or movies) into account. You can find these results in our headphones reviews.
